TACTICAL COMBAT CASUALTY CARE
In today’s unpredictable and corrosive working environment, public safety-first responders and civilians face many dangers, including increasingly high numbers of active shooter incidents resulting in critical injury to themselves, victims, witnesses and loved ones. The objective of this course is providing essential critical wound care at the point of injury and increasing survivability for first responders and civilians, while allowing them to “stay in the fight.”
Certified tactical medics with years of experience “down range” will teach students comprehension of Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC), including:
- Priority of actions required prior to providing essential emergency medical care
- Performance of the MARCH rapid trauma assessment protocol
- Recognition and control of bleeding from an extremity through proper application of tourniquets
- Control of hemorrhagic bleeding using hemostatic gauze
- Proper opening, clearing, and maintaining of airways
- Assessment and treatment of a penetrating chest wound
- Assessment and treatment for shock.
All training is designed for first responders and civilians with little to no medical experience and is presented in an easy-to-learn format, ensuring students retain the information for use when it is critically needed. This course is essential for all public safety disciplines and members of all ranks as well as civilians that carry firearms.
The first eight-hour course meets all training objectives identified by the National Association of Emergency Technicians (NAEMT) and is currently approved by the Police Officer Standards and Training (POST) and the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE).
This 16-hour (two day) training consists of eight (8) hours of classroom lecture, which includes demonstration, skills development, and equipment familiarization training and eight (8) hours of range time integrating firearm skills, stress inoculation, and medical interventions and concepts of when to get “off the X” and to provide medical interventions.
Scholarships are available from the First Responder Training Foundation for our first responders.

Caliber of TCCC Instruction
I’ve participated in a significant amount of Tactical Training, and been looking for a TCCC Class for quite some. I am fortunate to have been invited to do Hughston Shooting School‘s TCCC Class by a Friend that had done it twice before. This class exceeded my expectations, and I plan to do it again. I highly recommend it to anyone considering TCCC Training.
